Code p0316

When this code appears, a misfire has been detected on startup during the first 0revolutions. Code P3and P3both indicate a misfire on cylinder number six. P3is misfire on unknown cylinder.


Car missed and started running very rough. I replaced the coil on plug (COP) and all is. Singlecab started having a rough idle a week ago. It appears to happen only during start up. If there are no other misfire codes , this code can indicate a problem with a crankshaft position sensor, camshaft position sensor, or a wiring issue.


DIYer trick is to swap injectors - observe if code moved to new location. Mostly it stays on but sometimes it flashes. This occurs, obviously, at start up consistently. The truck idles rough but seems to run fine.


Spark plugs were replaced. The PCM has detected a misfire at engine startup, within the first 0RPMs. You should check for fuel and spark at that cylinder. Basically meaning it detected a misfire when you first started it up.


Start by checking for intake leaks and if no leaks are found the next step is to replace the spark plugs on cylinder 5.
