P0302 cylinder 2 misfire detected

Consult a reliable vehicle information source for the location of the number cylinder for the vehicle in question. This can happen for multiple reasons and a mechanic needs to diagnose the specific cause for this code to be triggered in your situation. Start by checking for intake leaks and if no leaks are found the next step is to replace the spark plugs on cylinder 2. This means the misfire detection monitor has detected an engine misfire , particular. The PCM determines this information using the crankshaft position sensor and camshaft position sensor. A misfire occurs when an insufficient amount of fuel is burning in a cylinder.

The efficient burning of fuel is essential to engine operation as the combustion of fuel is what provides the energy to power the engine. No issues ever - I know right the best car ever! I have replaced all spark plugs two plugs on cylinder , new ignition coil, new injector on cylinder , new plug wire on cylinder 2. The engine computer or PCM can detect a misfiring cylinder by monitoring the engine speed.

The last digit of the code P030X stands for the misfiring cylinder number. That means that multiple cylinders misfire at random. Vehicle Owners: If you are seeking an automotive repair professional to service your vehicle, visit the iATN Repair Shop Finder. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring. CEL, its staying on and has been on now for about days.

This article will address a misfire code from a different vantage point. It will look at a plan of attack for when a code is being set intermittently. If the misfire rate exceeds the threshold level, and could cause emission deterioration, the ECM illuminates the MIL and sets a DTC.

Misfire Activity Detected. My idle was fluctuating from normal to low (500) and my CEL came on. When the misfire monitor detects a misfire , it will trigger the check engine light with the specific cylinder number as the last digit in the P030X code.

The code says cylinder misfire detected and the car shakes badly on iddle. I did have a look at the coil packs and they look all good and the spark plugs were changed last year. I own the proscan software and adaptor for access to obdii live sensor info if this is useful.

However I am not experienced enough to know what is normal for each sensor. Had a misfire code for cylinder and random misfires, moved the coil to cylinder to see if it would follow the coil after I. PM by Juan Carlos De Zubiria. Have your cylinder check for proper compression before doing tune up. A misfire just means that the ECM has determined that that particular cylinder is slacking off, so to speak.

So your code would be a PO3O2.

Next thing you should do is determine if you have spark to that cylinder and how strong the spark is in kV. But since, I have had an issue with cylinder misfire , at idle only.

When it occurs, shortly after cold start up, when idling down from high idle. It lasts about seconds, then code light. I have changed the plugs(6), and the coil on number cylinder. At the time my vehicle had approximately 15miles.

Ignition system Fuel injectors Fuel pressure Running out of fuel EVAP canister purge valve Evaporative emission system Low compression Base engine problems Controle Module damaged Special Notes. This feature search for engine misfire in a specific cylinder. Cylinder starts on the passenger side.

That is the actual front of the engine, but standing in front of the car, cylinder is the furthest to the left. When I had the aeroforce scan gauge on my Cobalt SS, the misfires were detected by cylinder. So if it was a misfire in cylinder , it would be the 2nd cylinder from the left. Engine misfire detected , cylinder number 2. Could be spark plug, ignition coil, ecm, or a loose wire. The miss can be felt at idle.

Each cylinder fires a spark plug one after another. This is caused by improper control logic of the PCM. A spark plug is located on the top of each cylinder. I replaced the spark plugs just a week ago, and when I checked them today they all still look new, except for the cylinder plug.

Combustion misfire detected. The ECU determines which cylinder is misfiring by using the crankshaft position sensor to detect variations in the rotational speed of the crankshaft. L The code came in multiple times, solid light, and then cleared itself a day or two later. A cylinder needs the proper amount of air to fuel mixture, spark, and compression to fire. If any one of those is absent, mistime or sub-optimal, the cylinder will misfire.

WARNING: Do not drive agressivley if flashing CEL and misfire occurs, let off gas immediately. Algorithm is about as: if misfire is detected , it should occur repeatedly (how many times is not documented) in minutes. Please can you guys help me, I know a some things about.

Dimineata cand plec la munca, cand motorul este rece, nu am aceste simptome.
