This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is a generic powertrain code , which means that it applies to OBD-II equipped vehicles. If the engine speed fluctuates enough to cause the Crankshaft Position ( CKP ) sensor signal to vary, the Engine Control Module ( ECM ) can determine that a misfire is occurring.

Turn the ignition off, disconnect the fuel injector harness connector of the misfiring cylinder.
