P0430 code

This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is a generic powertrain code, which means that it applies to OBD-II equipped vehicles. This code is ALMOST ALWAYS this issue. Replacing your catalytic converter is costly, so, knowing if a new catalytic converter is needed pays off. I wrote a much more detailed explanation of how an emission system works and what causes these codes.


Read this post and then refer to this more detailed post. Bank is the passenger side. The most common cause of this code is due to a faulty catalytic converter. Bad oxygen sensors are also a possibility but if this is the case an oxygen sensor code will usually accompany the catalytic converter code. Always diagnose and repair oxygen sensor codes before attempting to diagnose catalytic converter codes.


Truck (details in sig) threw a 4code the other day. It is part of the vehicle emissions system. Take the tune off and wait for the code to come back, then give it to the dealer. The Osensors readings while the car was operating seemed like they were good = there was a wave like graph generated from both pre-cat sensors and a level reading for both post-cat sensors.


There were times it was a bit jumpy, but overall they were good it seemed. They did clear the code and I drove And this website Technorati Twitter _____ Black KJ. I jiggled the wires on that sensor and the check engine light went off. The Check Engine Light has come on a couple of times since.

You have a few options here: 1. So, with the code scanner, I had codes. Cleared the computer and took the truck for a drive. Of course, the light came back on, but when I ran the scanner, it found codes. This is known as the downstream Osensor, they are the ones that throw this code.


OBS 73K miles The other day my truck started running like it was on four cylinders and the check engine light started flashing. CEL came on a couple of days ago. I believe the catalytic converter must be replace. The questions I have are: 1. PCM runs a test on the cat and if it fails it will set these codes. After some investigation I have a solution that can save everyone a lot of money.


UPDATE: Well, I have tried two more rounds of B-Chem-tool and my check engine light is still on. I have had the code reset several times, but the check engine light comes on within a day or two. When your vehicle generates those emission codes it simply means that the converter is not able to function properly.


Remember that the catalytic converter is at the very end of the emission diagnostic system, and a number of things can go wrong upstream of the converter that can cause. PO4(or PO430) MIL light illumination. Local Garage replaced one catalytic converter and said they installed a 69.


Next day check engine light came on again with same code.
