Car dashboard gauges not working

The dashboard gauges in your car tell a complex story about everything from your current rate of spee to the state and health of your engine, and even whether or not things like your headlights are switched on. With the car running, check to see if each and all of the turn signals are working even if the dashboard tells you nothing is happening. If they are working but your dashboard doesn’t report that they are working , and if the fuses are all okay, then there is a design flaw going on.

I then noticed upon opening door the instrument panel and interior lights do not come on or the dashboard.

Replace the battery immediately. The times that I have actually had bad gauges , it was select gauges not working. I was driving down the road and all my gauges stopped working. I went in this morning to start my car and I heard beeping sound and my gauges did not light up and did not work , but my car started and it runs great.

Start your car and check again to see if the dashboard lights are functioning properly. If your dashboard lights are still not working or if one or more bulbs in the gauge cluster are not working , remove the gauge cluster from the dashboard and check the electrical connections and bulbs. None of my gauges will work , but my turn signal indicators, high beam indicators, and dash lights all work. There are a few possible scenarios going on here.

If all the gages stopped working at once it is most likely that either a fuse has burnt out or the gauge or instrument cluster has an open circuit, possibly a ground wire. There should be one that is called instrument cluster, gages or dash or something similar. Why are the dashboard gauges not working suddenly?

It affected the speedmoter, battery gauge , oil pressure gauge.

Everything else is working correctly. Test the dashboard light bulbs. If the fuses are working properly, check for a blown bulb in the dashboard. This set of gauges is commonly referred to as the gauge cluster.

I started the engine and the warning buzzard and gauges did not work. Also the warning and prompt indicator lights did not light up at the start of the engine, however the lights started to blink from the upper left to the bottom left. All of them stopped working except the speedometer which will not work from time to time. I would say about of the time it will work. Nothing else will work though.

The truck runs and operates fine, but the radio, heater controls and dash lights work fine. If bulb does not work when installe turn it around in the socket. The dash instrument cluster failed and does not read a correct temperature nor does the oil gauge read correctly. The temperature gauge read that the temperature was above the highest reading on the gauge. I searched for this problem and found a couple of similar threads but not much in the way of specifics for my car.

The problem is that none of the gauges in my dashboard are working. The odometer and trip meter work fine. Dash gauges drop to zero while car is running usually for a few seconds, sometimes for several minutes. Since there are so many different types of car interior lights, a failure can be either an annoyance or a real safety issue.

The fuse box is located up under the dash on the drivers side. The power regulator that controls the gas gauge is located on the back of the instrument panel mounted to the flexable circuit board. One is for the gauge and one is for the computer. The one for the gauge only has one wire. Wityh the key off, unplug the wire and attach a jumper wire from the wire to ground.

Now, momentarily turn the key on and watch the gauge. It should immediately go to full. If it does, then the dash gauge is working properly.
