Slide out the ignition switch assembly and unplug the wires from the back of it. Remove the small screw from the back of the ignition assembly. Place a small amount of grease on the end of the new switch.


Plug the wires into the new switch. Reassemble all parts by reversing the steps above. Order a replacement ignition key from a locksmith.


It generally takes a few hours for the locksmith to check your ignition against the key s they have in stock and find the right one, as well as cut down and form the right size and shape of key for your car. Check the new key by inserting it into the ignition. You may need to turn the new ignition key in the lock cylinder to the accessories position before inserting it into the ignition switch.
