Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (small leak) What does that mean? I replace the fuel pump, gas cap, evap canister vent solenoid. EVAP system in the Leak Test Refer to Monitor Test. To perform the test the computer energizes the vacuum management valve (VMV) vent valve.

Decided on TOAD OBDscanner. It reads OBDII , including CAN format. I’ve only used it once to date, but it told me everything I needed to know and more. Small leak in the emission system.


As was suggested elsewhere in this forum, replaced the fuel tank (gas) cap with an new KIA factory cap and the problem has gone away. I plan on getting a new gas cap, some people say it could be address and other required details in the form below. I had to re-tightened the gas cap and manually remove the code and been driving the truck for over days (100)Miles and nothing has popped up. Two or Three years back I received this same code and a friend at the dealer ship mentioned to me about a common problem related to this which was fixed by changing out the Vent Valve located on the back end of the fuel tank. First thing to check was the gas cap.


I tightened the cap, reset the codes and kept driving. Interestingly enough I read this writeup about a year or so ago and thought, How ingenious. GM replacements, had the code cleared and it was fine and went away. Has anyone run into this and if so, any suggestions on fixing the problem. Thanks in advance for any help.

You may need a new catalytic converter or sensors. Advance Auto pulled out the. Check engine light came on yesterday.
